(KPL) Huaphan Province exported more than 200 tonnes of mineral ores in the first three months of the current fiscal year.
Eight mining exploration activities, resulting from investments by private companies, have so far been well controlled by the provincial administration authorities.
The Huaphan Planning and Investment Department unveiled that in recent years, Huaphan Province has been focusing on monitoring and inspecting the progress of each company’s activities that are worth a total of 1.4 trillion kip (almost US$172 million).
Four of the mining projects were approved by the Government and the other four were approved by Huaphan Province.
The mining projects that were approved by the local authorities were for lead, tin, and zinc ores in Houay Cheun village of Kouane District, and iron ore mining in Kang village of Samtai district.
The mining exploration projects that were approved by the Government were for steel ore in Ta-aen village of Viengxay District and copper and iron ores in Phiengyam village of Xiengkhor District and in Kaengnai village of Xamtai District.
The iron ore mining projects cover 50 ha of Phoun Nuea village of Nga and Viengxay Districts and magenesium mining, located in Loum village of Xiengkhor District.
The report showed that the first three months’ export volume reached 223.85 tonnes of lead, tin, zinc and other ore.
The total amount of export of mineral ores since the eight projects began stands at 211,875.84 tonnes.
