(KPL) With election day approaching, authorities in Laos have intensified nationwide propaganda and mobilization efforts to ensure strong public participation in the 10th National Assembly and 5th Provincial People’s Council elections.

A meeting to hear reports on the results of monitoring and promoting propaganda and mobilization for the elections at central and local levels was held on February 18, 2026, under the chairmanship of Chaleun Yiapaohher, Vice President of the National Assembly of Laos, member of the National Election Committee, and Deputy Head of the Sub-Committee for Propaganda and Election Mobilization. Representatives of relevant sectors and invited participants attended.

Mr. Chaleun stated that the meeting aimed to hear reports from Sub-Committees for Propaganda and Mobilization that conducted monitoring and inspection missions to support preparations for the elections scheduled for February 22, 2026. The review assessed implementation in line with Directive No. 09 on propaganda and mobilization and Directive No. 016 on election campaigning.

Each monitoring team was requested to submit comprehensive reports on the actual situation observed during visits to localities nationwide. The findings are expected to support further guidance by the Sub-Committee, strengthen implementation of directives, build momentum for election campaigning, and address issues related to election constituencies.

Representatives of the monitoring teams presented summaries of their activities, reporting on implementation by responsible election committees, outcomes of propaganda and mobilization efforts, facilitating factors, challenges encountered, and proposed solutions for further improvement.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Chaleun emphasized that Sub-Committee teams must actively carry out their assigned responsibilities with a high sense of accountability to ensure the elections proceed in line with established objectives.
