(KPL) The Lao Traditional Medicine Conservation Association will host the second Lao Traditional Medicine Exhibition on 12–13 December at the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum in Vientiane, bringing together more than 30 traditional medicine producers.

Bounleuane Douangdeuane, Head of the Institute of Traditional Medicine and Medicinal Plants at the Ministry of Health, said the event commemorates three major national occasions: the 105th anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane’s birth, the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR, and the third anniversary of the association itself.

The exhibition aims to promote Lao traditional remedies, encourage greater public use of quality, Food and Drug Administration–approved products, and provide producers with a platform to showcase and sell their goods. It also supports efforts to integrate traditional medicine with modern and alternative treatments in healthcare facilities nationwide.

Organisers say the event will help preserve local medicinal knowledge, strengthen production standards and foster public confidence in the safety and effectiveness of Lao traditional medicine. Bounleuane noted that the exhibition reflects the continued development of President Kaysone Phomvihane’s vision for advancing traditional medicine and the country’s rich medicinal plant heritage.
