(KPL) On March 2, Ms Aly Vongnobountham, President of the Central Committee of the Lao Women’s Union (LWU), and her delegation received a courtesy visit from Luo Weijian, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in the Lao PDR.
The visit was organized to extend well wishes on the occasion of the 116th anniversary of International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8.
During the meeting, Ms. Aly expressed her warm welcome and sincere appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.
Key points of discussion included:
Joint Activities: The two sides discussed preparations for an upcoming seminar entitled “Xi Jinping's Perspectives on Women’s Work,” which will serve as one of the key activities marking the 116th International Women’s Day celebrations.
Future Cooperation: The meeting also explored long-term cooperation plans and strategic directions aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and enhancing collaboration between the Lao Women’s Union and the Chinese Cultural Center.
Cultural Exchange: Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to integrating cultural exchange initiatives with efforts to advance the role and development of women in both countries.
The meeting reflected the continued strengthening of cooperation and friendship between the two sides in support of women’s development and cultural understanding.
