(KPL) The Propaganda and Training Board of the Party Central Committee held a special lecture on July 8 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Lao Women’s Union (July 20, 1955–2025).
The event was attended by Ms. Vilavone Phanthavong, Vice President of the Propaganda and Training Board, along with presidents and members of the Lao Women’s Union and affiliated organizations. The ceremony took place at the main hall of the Board.
Ms. Aly Vongnobountham, President of the Lao Women’s Union, delivered a keynote speech highlighting the Union’s founding history and achievements. She recalled the Union's origins in 1955 and its first meeting held in Huaphan Province in 1975, chaired by Ms. Khampheng Boupha.

The meeting marked a significant milestone, calling for unity among ethnic groups and promoting the concept of the "Three-Good Women" which emphasises three main priorities: Good Citizen, Good Development, and Building Good and Prosperous Families— as part of building a new generation of Lao women committed to national development.
Ms. Aly also highlighted the Union's accomplishments, including the receipt of national medals and regional awards, the successful hosting of ASEAN women’s meetings, and the establishment of relief funds to assist people affected by flooding across the country.
