Embassy in Laos held a get-together to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2025
and mark the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)
(February 3, 1930-2025) in Vientiane on January 24 evening, which saw the
presence of several high-level Lao leaders.
Speaking at the event,
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam briefed the guests on the achievements of the CPV
over its 95 years of construction and development, highlighting Vietnam's
notable milestones in the areas of politics, national defence and security,
foreign affairs, and socio-economic development in 2024.
He emphasised that the
achievements Vietnam has gained in its past struggle for national liberation
and reunification, as well as in the current national construction, protection
and renewal cause are partly thanks to immense, invaluable, and heartfelt
support and assistance from the Party, State, and people of Laos.
The diplomat expressed
his hope that the two countries will continue to stand side by side, strongly
promote the tradition of mutual solidarity and cooperation, and strive together
to build and develop their nations, making them steadily advance on the path of
building socialism.
On behalf of the Party,
State, and people of Laos, Bounthong Chitmani, Politburo member, Permanent
member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s
Secretariat and State Vice President, extended New Year greetings to the Vietnamese
people and congratulations to the CPV on its 95th founding anniversary. He
praised the wise and brilliant leadership of the CPV which has resulted in
significant, comprehensive, and historically meaningful successes, particularly
in the Fatherland building and safeguarding cause.
The Lao leader expressed
his belief that under the leadership of the CPV, the administration of the
Government, and the supervision of the National Assembly, Vietnam will continue
to reap more successes, transforming the country into a modern industrial
nation, in line with the goals outlined in the 13th National Party Congress's
Resolution.
Also on this occasion,
the Lao Embassy in Russia paid a Tet visit to the Vietnamese Embassy, during
which Lao Ambassador Siphandone Oiboubutdy expressed his joy over Vietnam’s
socio-economic development achievements under the leadership of the CPV. He
also affirmed his commitment to continuing to promote close cooperation between
the two embassies in foreign affairs and friendship exchanges.
On January 24 evening, a
gathering was organised at the Hanoi - Moscow multifunctional complex Incentra
in the Russian capital for Vietnamese people living and working here to
celebrate the Year of the Snake.

Dang Minh Khoi wished all Vietnamese a happy and prosperous New Year 2025 with
good health and greater success in life, as the nation enters a new era – the
era of the nation’s rise.
On the same day, the
Vietnamese Consulate General in Vladivostok also held a ceremony to mark the
95th founding anniversary of the CPV and the Xuan Que huong (Homeland Spring)
programme.
