(KPL) A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on National Defense Cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR and the Department of National Defense of Philippines was singed in Vientiane on Nov 20, 2024.
The MOU was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos, Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath, and Philippine Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., in the presence of relevant officials from both sides.
At a meeting prior to the signing ceremony, Gen. Chansamone Chanyalath emphasized that his meeting with the Filipino counterpart contributed to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, particularly their armed forces.
Philippine Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. praised Laos for its successful ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, and reaffirmed the Philippines' commitment to deepening the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, aiming for tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries.
