NA President Meets Vietnam’s Prime Minister

KPL President of the National Assembly (NA) of Laos, Xaysomphone Phomvihane, met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation in Vientiane on Oct 8.

 

(KPL) President of the National Assembly (NA) of Laos, Xaysomphone Phomvihane, met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation in Vientiane on Oct 8.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is visiting Laos to attend the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related meetings, which are taking place in Vientiane from October 8 to 11, 2024.

NA President Xaysomphone expressed his warm welcome and high appreciation for the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s visit and participation in the summits, highlighting that this engagement would strengthen the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

He underscored the importance of strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

Mr. Xaysomphone also praised the successful bilateral meeting between the prime ministers of Laos and Vietnam, which further consolidated the strong ties between the two nations.

He extended heartfelt greetings to Vietnamese National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and conveyed Laos' appreciation for Vietnam’s valuable assistance.

The host expressed sympathy to Vietnam, especially to the regions affected by the Yagi and Soulik typhoons, which impacted Hanoi and the northern and central provinces of Vietnam in September 2024.

He also expressed gratitude for Vietnam's generous and timely support for Laos in hosting the ASEAN Summits, particularly through the provision of experts and office equipment.

Both leaders highly valued the continued deepening of bilateral relations in various sectors, especially through the mutual exchange of visits and cooperation between the two legislative bodies. This partnership has contributed to the ever-growing and profound friendship between Laos and Vietnam.
