(KPL) The Department of Information, Culture, and Tourism (DICT) of Savannakhet Province and APA Incorporate signed on Aug 1 an agreement on a comprehensive museum survey and design project in Savannakhet Province.

The signing ceremony was held at the DICT office in Savannakhet Province.

Representatives who signed the agreement included Mr. Mongkhounephet Vongpachan, Deputy Head of the DICT of Savannakhet Province, and Mr. Vongxay Bounmany, Director of APA Incorporate. Also present were Mr. Phosysoy Kuthilath, Head of the DICT of Savannakhet Province, along with project specialists and other relevant officials.

Mr. Mongkhounephet Vongpachan said that this agreement is a follow up of the provincial museum renovation project.

Initially, the project only planned to renovate the main building of the museum. The current survey and design project will be carried out in two phases: Phase 1 will take 8-12 months for the survey and design work, culminating in the selection of a construction company. Phase 2 will take 24 months to oversee and inspect the construction process, with a total budget of 215,000 USD.

The survey and design project aims to establish a large, fully-equipped museum in the near future, incorporating all the surrounding areas of the current museum.

This project is expected to become a significant tourist attraction in Savannakhet Province, showcasing the beauty and historical significance of the colonial-era architecture.

The collaboration with experienced companies, particularly APA Incorporate, which has extensive experience and a thorough understanding of the local area, is anticipated to create a beautiful and comprehensive museum that will boost tourism in the old town area of Savannakhet Province.
