(KPL) Embassy of India, in collaboration with Art of Living Laos, organized a special session on 'Culture, meditation and wisdom' by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, world renowned spiritual and humanitarian leader, who paid his first ever visit to the Lao PDR for the same.

Sri Sri Ravishankar is recipient of one of India’s highest civilian awards as also numerous awards from countries around the world.

At the packed session held on Mar 20 at the Lao National Cultural Hall, the audience, which included Deputy Minister Vansy Kuamua for Information, Culture and Tourism; Ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps; revered monks; media; members of Lao and Indian community in large numbers and of Lao-India Friendship Association deeply appreciated Gurudev's discourse on meditation, spirituality and their need today more than ever before, especially for the youth. 

Cultural performances featuring both Lao and Indian culture were presented for the audience. Ambassador Prashant Agrawal delivered the welcome address.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar emphasized the relevance of meditation in today’s world. He spoke about the increasing levels of stress among the population, especially post Pandemic, and the role of spirituality and meditative practices in addressing psychological issues. He also spoke about meditation and Yoga and its role in relieving stress among students and professionals. Meditation creates better skills for day-to-day life at home and at work. 

Being a global personality, visit of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to Laos also served to highlight Laos as an attractive destination during the Visit Laos Year 2024 to his millions of followers in India and around the world.
