(KPL) After nearly two years of training and completing all 12 intensive courses within the Quality Champions (QCs) Programme. Earlier this year, the QCs embarked on a journey to support Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the Lao PDR. A set of QCs trained by the International Trade Centre (ITC) was paired with selected companies to help them improve the quality of products and services.

Earlier this week, a team of professional quality experts or QCs, signed a collaboration agreement with the Lao National Chamber of Commerce (LNCCI). The signed agreement outlines the future collaboration between LNCCI and QCs team and how they will actively involve one another. In order to help Lao SMEs improve their productivity and operational efficiency, ultimately meeting international standards and increasing their export.

Phonexay (QC) conducted a training for a small business to help improve the company's productivity and organise their workplace

ITC developed QC Programme in 2018 with the aim of cultivating quality competence in SMEs by creating a team of qualified professionals capable of helping these organisations achieve market success.

Over the years, QCs have been trained to use tools and techniques to ensure food safety and quality and build international standards. Amongst the training offered are quality management, food safety, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO 9001, Kaizen, and training and advisory skills.

Upon completion, QCs will receive international qualifications and serve Lao businesses as trainers, coaches and advisers through LNCCI.
