Lao Govt, CGN to develop a clean energy comprehensive project

KPL (KPL) A Memorandum of Understanding for a six-month feasibility study for clean energy comprehensive project in three northern provinces of Phongsaly, Luang Namtha and Oudomxay was signed in Vientiane last week between Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mrs Phonevanh Outhavong and president of CGN Energy Technology (Laos) Co., Ltd Dai Hong Gai.

(KPL) A Memorandum of Understanding for a six-month feasibility study for clean energy comprehensive project in three northern provinces of Phongsaly, Luang Namtha and Oudomxay was signed in Vientiane last week between Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mrs Phonevanh Outhavong and president of CGN Energy Technology (Laos) Co., Ltd Dai Hong Gai.

Present at the event were Minister of Planning and Investment Khamjen Vongphosy, Minister of Energy and Mines Daovong Phonkeo and Chinese Ambassador to the Lao PDR and Governors of three provinces.

During the signing ceremony, CGN’s president said that our company has five branches with a total investment of 900 billions Yuan. It has a production capacity of 72 million kilowatts in China and an installed capacity of 30 million kilowatts and it includes a million kilowatts in oversea as in southeast asian nations, including Egypt, France and Brazil. 

This investment is implemented following the strategy of sharing the same fate of the two Laos-China to make it a reality especially line integration of electricity field.

Mrs Phonevanh also noted that signing the MOU is an important step for the company to coordinate with the relevant central and local sectors to determine the scope and the possibility for a feasibility study for development of clean energy projects in the three northern provinces.
