(KPL) On November 14, 2024, a delegation of medical professionals from the Medical Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army arrived at Vientiane Railway Station to officially participate in the joint military exercise between the Lao and Chinese armies, code-named "Peace Train 2024," focusing on humanitarian assistance and medical services.

The delegation was welcomed by Brig. Gen. Bouasing Inthavong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics of the Lao People’s Army; Special Colonel Zhao Xong, Deputy Director of the Medical Corps, Logistic Support Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, and representatives from relevant offices.

In his welcoming remarks, Brig. Gen. Bouasing Inthavong expressed his warm and friendly greetings, highlighting the solidarity and friendship between the two nations, Parties, and armies. He emphasized the growing strength of the cooperative bond between the Lao People’s Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

The joint Lao-Chinese military exercise, known as the "Peace Train 2024," aims to enhance military cooperation, deepen collaboration in public health between the two armies, and elevate joint capabilities in medical and logistics command operations and emergency response. 

The exercise will also serve as a model for future military medical cooperation, strengthening the mutual respect and goodwill between the two countries.

The training will be conducted at the Phonhong Railway Station, Vientiane Province, and surrounding areas. Medical services will be provided at Hospital 103 in Vientiane, Hospital 107 in Luang Prabang, and the Military Hospital in Luang Namtha, from November 16–21, 2024.
