(KPL) Rescue team of the Lao People’s Army said their efforts to retrieve dead bodies of a helicopter accident were highly hampered by numerous difficulties as crash site of Mi-17: RDPL34062 is located in difficult-to-reach mountainous areas and poor weather condition prevails.
The Ministry of National Defence has announced no survivors among people on board the helicopter which crashed in Longcheng district, Xaysomboune province on Monday.
Search team managed to locate the crash site yesterday morning. The site is in the north of Luangphanxay village, Longcheng district.

Investigations into the cause of the incident are going on as bad weather condition is most believed as the cause of the mishap.
Mi-17: RDPL34062 lost contact with the Aviation Control Centre shortly after it left Vientiane en route to Xiengkhouang and Houaphan provinces on Monday afternoon. The aircraft was carrying 23 people on board including 4 crew members and 19 passengers.
