NA Standing Committee adopts decree law on natural resource exploitation fee

KPL (KPL) A National Assembly’s Standing Committee meeting was held in Vientiane yesterday, 19 February. It considered a number of important issues and adopted several key suggestions including a decree law for a fee for natural resource exploitation.

(KPL) A National Assembly’s Standing Committee meeting was held in Vientiane yesterday, 19 February.  It considered a number of important issues and adopted several key suggestions including a decree law for a fee for natural resource exploitation.

            The one day function, held under the chairmanship of Mrs. Pany Yathortou, President of the National Assembly (NA) also heard a report from the NA’s office on its personnel training affairs for 2014 and its training plan for 2015. It also considered the appointments and transfers of some NA deputies in the provincial constituency, a report from the information and library center of NA on its activities, and a draft decree of the NA’s Standing Committee on approving some public investment projects.

            The meeting also considered issuing a resolution of the NA on the project to build the Namtha I Hydropower Project in Luang Namtha Province and reviewed the consideration of NA on its resolution on Namkong II hydropower development project in Attapeu Province.

            The meeting also heard a report on the progress to build the NA’s office at the first constituency in Vientiane, the capital of Laos; the progress of NA Office construction project for 2014-2015 and proposed the model of NA’s office for the 7th constituency of Xayaboury Province. It also considered some requests for justice, the achievements on amendment of 6 laws, and a proposal to adjust some articles of the presidential decree No.003 dated 26 December, 2012 on fees for services.
