(KPL) The conference was held from September 14-18, 2026, bringing together representatives of States Parties, observer States, international organisations, civil society groups, survivors and other stakeholders to review progress under the Convention and discuss priorities for strengthening its implementation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Japan’s contribution helped the Lao PDR fulfil its responsibilities as host and President of the conference, while supporting national capacity and international cooperation in unexploded ordnance (UXO) and mine action.

The ministry expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for their continued assistance and said it looked forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in addressing the humanitarian and development impacts of UXO.
