(KPL) Motorists are advised to avoid part of Lane Xang Road in Vientiane Capital on September 26–27, 2026, as temporary traffic diversions will be introduced to facilitate road construction work.
The Vientiane Capital Department of Public Works and Transport issued Notice No. 8626/PWTC.VC on September 23, requesting motorists to follow the temporary traffic arrangements.
The affected section is the inbound lane of Lane Xang Road, from the Vientiane High School traffic light to the Laos-France Bank traffic light. The diversion is necessary to facilitate road-cutting and pipe-laying for the Smart Clean-Cooling Road System (CCRS) project.
Motorists travelling from the Prime Minister’s Office area who need to bypass the affected section can use alternative routes. They may turn right along the wall of Vientiane High School towards Sisavath Road and Sailom Road, or turn left onto the road beside the Vientiane Office towards Nongbone Road.
Residents and people working in the affected area are advised to follow instructions from traffic police when entering or leaving the area.
Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, allow additional travel time and use alternative routes to help reduce traffic congestion during the construction period.
