Guangxi Education Exhibition Opens in Vientiane

KPL The Guangxi Education Exhibition 2026 opened at the National University of Laos (NUOL) on June 3, highlighting expanding education cooperation between Laos and China.
The event marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Laos and China and the 30th anniversary of NUOL's founding. It brought together Lao and Chinese education officials, university representatives, lecturers and students.
Held under the theme "Study in Guangxi," the exhibition aims to provide Lao students with information on higher education opportunities, scholarships and academic exchanges in China.
Officials highlighted growing education cooperation between Laos and Guangxi, including scholarship programs, teacher training and curriculum development. Guangxi currently offers Lao students 52 annual scholarships for degree programs and 60 scholarships for Chinese-language studies.
Chinese officials said Guangxi is home to 93 higher education institutions and more than 1.88 million students, including over 10,000 international students, most of them from ASEAN countries.
The exhibition also showcased successful joint initiatives, including the Confucius Institute at NUOL, which has trained more than 90,000 Lao Chinese-language learners over the past 16 years, and the China-Laos Modern Agricultural Skills College, which has trained more than 1,900 vocational students and trainees.

The workshop brings together representatives from the Department of Teacher Education (DTE), the Resource Development Core Team (RDCT) from Khangkhai Teacher Training College, and the BEQUAL team to review lesson content, refine sample activities, and transform earlier curriculum mapping and field learning into practical materials for primary teachers.
