At the invitation of the Myanmar-Lao Friendship Association, a delegation from the Lao-Myanmar Friendship Association led by Mr. Chanthavong Seneamatmontry, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Laos and President of the Lao–Myanmar Friendship Association, paid a working visit to Naypyidaw, Myanmar.

(KPL) At the invitation of the Myanmar-Lao Friendship Association, a delegation from the Lao-Myanmar Friendship Association led by Mr. Chanthavong Seneamatmontry, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Laos and President of the Lao–Myanmar Friendship Association, paid a working visit to Naypyidaw, Myanmar.
During the visit, the two associations held a bilateral meeting co-chaired by Mr. Chanthavong Seneamatmontry and Brigadier General Win Maung, President of the Myanmar–Lao Friendship Association. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Bounphieng Chanthavong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Laos to Myanmar.
The discussions reviewed the outcomes of cooperation in 2025 and identified priority activities for 2026, focusing on expanding people-to-people exchanges, strengthening mutual trust, and deepening understanding between the citizens of both countries.
On the occasion, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Friendship and Cooperation for the period 2026–2030, which will serve as a framework to guide joint activities and further promote bilateral relations between the two associations.
During their stay, the Lao delegation also paid a courtesy call on Mr. U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, who expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that such exchanges contribute significantly to strengthening people-to-people diplomacy and enhancing the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
In addition to official engagements, the delegation visited several historical and cultural sites in Yangon and Naypyidaw, further promoting cultural understanding and friendship between the peoples of Laos and Myanmar.
