(KPL) Authorities in Vientiane held a consultative meeting on Feb 23 to launch a school-based awareness campaign promoting the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system as part of the Sustainable Transport Project.
The meeting took place at the Vientiane Department of Public Works and Transport and was attended by sector leaders, project managers and relevant stakeholders.
Officials said the campaign aims to help teachers and students better understand the benefits of BRT in easing traffic congestion, improving road safety and supporting modern urban development in the capital. Activities will run from Feb 25 to Mar 18 and target schools located along the BRT corridor, including National University of Laos and several secondary schools in surrounding areas.
Participants also discussed communication strategies and media outreach to maximize public awareness and encourage greater use of public transport among young people.
