(KPL/Prensa Latina) The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in this city on Wednesday with the participation of more than 4,100 foreign companies and representatives from some 155 countries and regions.

Premier Li Qiang opened the event and delivered a speech in which he reaffirmed the country’s determination to maintain a high level of opening up and promote high-quality economic development.

Li noted that the recommendations for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, provide certainty for China’s economic and social development, as well as new opportunities for global growth.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that the CIIE is the world’s first national event focused on imports and a symbol of the country’s commitment to openness and international cooperation.

“Moving forward together with China means moving forward together with opportunities,” Mao stated after highlighting that the Chinese market continues to expand its potential as a space for shared growth.

As part of the side events, the sub-forum “Humanoid Robot Innovation and Cooperation for Development” was held within the framework of the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum.

The meeting brought together officials, experts, and representatives of technology companies, who discussed the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and the development of humanoid robots in industrial transformation and global cooperation.
