In his remarks, Tavinyan commended Chinese enterprises like CSG for their active role in boosting Laos’s economic growth and promoting regional power cooperation. He emphasized that such initiatives not only strengthen infrastructure but also deepen mutual understanding and emotional bonds between the peoples of China and Laos through storytelling and cultural exchange.
Ms Li Xizhen echoed these sentiments, highlighting that China and Laos share a common destiny and close geographical ties. She noted that the presence of Chinese enterprises in Laos serves as a living example of how bilateral cooperation enhances livelihoods and brings tangible benefits to local communities.

A representative from CSG’s News Center described Hands of Hope as a heartfelt cinematic effort to further strengthen the connection between the two countries. “Through this film, we aim to tell authentic stories of cooperation and friendship, and we look forward to continued collaboration with all partners to share these inspiring narratives,” the representative said.

The 22-minute documentary tells the moving story of how CSG helped the principal of a school for hearing-impaired children in Laos realize her dream of studying in China. Combining emotional storytelling with real-life visuals, the film left a deep impression on the audience. After the screening, the production team shared behind-the-scenes experiences, while employees from Électricité du Laos Transmission Company (EDL-T) discussed their contributions to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) projects.
The event also featured a variety of interactive zones, including the “CSG Charity Achievements Area,” “Documentary Behind-the-Scenes Area,” “Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Area,” “Electricity Science Area,” and “Charity Wish Wall.” These exhibits showcased CSG’s efforts in education, community development, and power cooperation through immersive displays of photos, artifacts, and videos.

Jointly produced by CSG, China Review Studio, and Discovery Channel, Hands of Hope premiered on September 28, coinciding with the 68th International Day of the Deaf. Available in Chinese, Lao, and English, the documentary will soon be broadcast in more than nine languages across major international audio-visual platforms—bringing the touching story of China–Laos friendship to audiences worldwide.
