The fourth provincial-level tour guide training programme kicked off today, equipping 96 participants from the northern province with essential professional skills to enhance tourism services in Luang Prabang.

(KPL) The fourth provincial-level tour guide training programme kicked off today, equipping 96 participants from the northern province with essential professional skills to enhance tourism services in Luang Prabang.
Mr. Chansamone Thipphavanh, Deputy Head of the Luang Prabang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, presided over the opening ceremony. The training, running from 7 to 31 July, is being conducted by experts from various sectors.
Participants will gain expertise in fundamentals of tourism, Lao PDR’s Tourism Law, professional communication for tour guides, Luang Prabang’s traditions, culture, and Buddhism, history and stories behind key tourist attractions, guiding techniques and tourist safety practises.
Mr. Chansamone encouraged active participation from both trainers and trainees, emphasizing the need for practical knowledge exchange to ensure high service standards. The programme includes hands-on workshops and evaluations to reinforce learning.
