KPL (KPL) At around 1:00 AM on April 29, 2025, a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall swept away two houses in Ban Lat Kham village, Nga District, Oudomxay Province, leaving nine people missing, local authorities reported.

(KPL) At around 1:00 AM on April 29, 2025, a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall swept away two houses in Ban Lat Kham village, Nga District, Oudomxay Province, leaving nine people missing, local authorities reported.

Mr. Po, the village chief, said intense rain caused the collapse of a temporary embankment built by a road construction company to block the Salok stream. The resulting floodwaters destroyed two homes along the stream’s edge.

The missing individuals are:

Mr. Chantham, 45

Ms. Sap, 37

Ms. Thong, 35

Mr. Don, 30

Mr. Somphong, 3

Ms. Phu, 5

Ms. Morn, 5

Ms. Meo, 60

Authorities believe the victims were swept away by the flood and buried under landslide debris in the river.

Search and rescue efforts are underway, with district officials, village teams, and related agencies racing against time to locate the missing.
