Laos Kicks Off Digital Week 2025 to Drive Tech Advancement

KPL The Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) has launched Digital Week 2025, themed "Strengthening and Sustaining Laos' Digital Infrastructure." The event runs from April 2-6, 2025, at the National Convention Hall in Vientiane Capital.


(KPL) The Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) has launched Digital Week 2025, themed "Strengthening and Sustaining Laos' Digital Infrastructure." The event runs from April 2-6, 2025, at the National Convention Hall in Vientiane Capital.

President Thongloun Sisoulith presided over the opening ceremony, joined by high-ranking government officials, provincial leaders, and private sector representatives.

MTC Minister Boviengkham Vongdara highlighted the rapid global advancements in digital technology, emphasizing its role in economic and social progress. He stressed the need for Laos to adapt to innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital communications to stay competitive.

Laos’ digital strategy focuses on three key areas of Digital Government – Enhancing e-governance and public services, Digital Economy – Driving innovation and business growth and Digital Society – Expanding digital literacy and connectivity.

Highlights of Digital Week 2025 include Seminars & Workshops: Experts from Laos and abroad discuss AI, robotics, and digital transformation, Tech Exhibitions: Showcasing cutting-edge digital products and innovations from local and international companies, Competitions: Programming contests and innovation challenges spotlighting Lao digital talent, International Collaboration: Bilateral meetings with global partners to enhance digital cooperation.

The event is free and open to all, aiming to foster widespread participation across sectors to accelerate Laos’ digital future.
