DPM Receives Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee Delegation

KPL Vientiane, February 27, 2025 Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith welcomed a delegation from Vietnam led by Tran Quoc Phuong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee. The visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and monitor the implementation of key projects between the two nations.

(KPL) Vientiane, February 27, 2025  Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith welcomed a delegation from Vietnam led by Tran Quoc Phuong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee. The visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and monitor the implementation of key projects between the two nations.

During the meeting, DPM Saleumxay expressed appreciation for Vietnam’s continued support and collaboration. He highlighted the importance of the delegation’s expertise in advising and overseeing major joint projects, including the Vientiane-Hanoi Expressway, the fuel storage warehouse construction project, and the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Park. He emphasized the urgency of advancing these initiatives to bring tangible benefits to the people of both countries and contribute to their socio-economic development.

The Deputy Prime Minister also encouraged the expert panel to leverage their experience in working with Lao counterparts to ensure the effective implementation of projects and political commitments outlined by both governments. He assured the delegation of full support in overcoming any challenges that may arise during their work in Laos.

In response, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong expressed gratitude for the warm reception and provided updates on discussions held with various Lao ministries, including the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to working closely with Laos to implement agreements set by both nations' leadership.

He emphasized that the ongoing cooperation would not only foster economic growth but also strengthen the historic solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring lasting and comprehensive bilateral ties for future generations.
