(KPL) President Thongloun Sisolith received a message of congratulations from his Chinese counterpart, Mr Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 49th Anniversary of the Founding of the Lao PDR.

The message read: “On the occasion of the 49 Anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on behalf of the Party, Government and People of China, I have the honour to convey my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the people of the Lao PDR.

Over the past year, the 11th Party Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party has set forth new developmental achievements in the mission of reform and opening up. It successfully fulfilled its role as ASEAN's rotating chair, enhancing both regional and international influence significantly.

Under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Party, with the General Secretary at the helm, Laos has confidently advanced along its planned path, adhering to a socialist framework tailored to the country's specific conditions. It continues to build new capacities steadily in the dual tasks of strengthening the Party and developing the nation.

In October this year, we convened a meeting in Kazan, Russia, where a unified agreement was reached to deepen mutual trust in political matters, promote practical cooperation, and strengthen the Lao-Chinese strategic partnership. I am deeply committed to the development of Lao-Chinese relations and delighted to see progress in strategic cooperation, particularly through comprehensive partnerships that foster greater mutual benefits for both countries.

Relevant sectors and local authorities from both nations are implementing these important agreements, taking bilateral strategic cooperation into a new era. This collaboration aims to bring greater benefits to the people of both nations and contribute earnestly to regional and global peace, stability, and sustainable development.

I wish for continued progress and prosperity for Laos and happiness for its people. May the establishment of the Laos-China community with a shared future continue to achieve new milestones.
