Founded as the nation’s first people's university during the early days of state-building, Kim Il Sung University has consistently functioned as the primary "pedigree farm" for training revolutionary talent and ideological backbones for the Party and state.
Upon arriving at the time-honoured campus on Ryongnam Hill, Kim Jong Un was greeted by university president Kim Sung Chan and other senior officials. Faculty members, students, visiting overseas compatriots, international academic forum delegates, foreign diplomatic missions, and international students erupted into stormy cheers of "Hurrah" and presented him with fragrant floral bouquets as a token of deepest reverence.
