(Xinhua/KPL) Laos welcomed 3.3 million international visitors in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a 19 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism reported

From January to October, Thailand, Vietnam, and China were the top sources of foreign tourists to Laos, the ministry's latest report revealed.

To further boost tourism during the Visit Laos Year 2024 campaign, the government has introduced visa-free entry and extended the stay duration for visitors from select countries.

As part of the Visit Laos Year 2024 initiative, tourism authorities and operators have enhanced services at hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants, while adding new facilities at tourist sites to improve the visitor experience.

During the ongoing eighth ordinary session of the National Assembly's ninth legislature, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone stated that in 2025, the government will focus on promoting tourism by targeting specific groups and fostering closer collaboration between the public and private sectors.
