(KPL) The China-Laos Railway's Lao section saw a 44.4% increase in passengers in the first 10 months of 2024, transporting a total of 3 million people, according to a report from Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd. (LCRC) on November 5.

From January 1 to November 4, over 2.8 million passengers traveled within Laos, while 108,000 took cross-border trains. The rise in ridership is attributed to Laos' ASEAN chairmanship, the Visit Laos Year 2024 campaign, and visa-free access for Chinese visitors.

To accommodate growing demand, LCRC has proactively adjusted schedules, added trains during peak times, and improved ticketing and passenger services. Since beginning operations in December 2021, the railway has become a preferred choice for affordable and comfortable travel.
