(KPL/Prensa Latina) Syrian Health Minister Ahmed Demerieh and Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Luis Mariano Fernandez Rodriguez have examined some ways of implementing mechanisms to boost cooperation in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
During a meeting at the Health Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, both officials expressed willingness to continue to work to overcome the difficult times and remove the obstacles to this cooperation, which resulted from the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Government of the United States and its Western allies.
The Syrian health minister thanked Cuba for donating vaccines to Syria during the Covid-19 pandemic, and noted its good reputation and impact on Syrians’ immunization.
Demerieh also praised Cuba’s progress in science and medicine to treat cancer and diabetic foot ulcers.
The minister also acknowledged Cuba’s historic positions in support of Syria in international forums.
