(KPL) Ms. Suansavanh Viyaketh, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, welcomed Mr. Bilal Aurang Zeb Durrani, the newly appointed Country Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to the Lao PDR, during an official ceremony held in Vientiane on October 15, 2024.
Ms. Suansavanh extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to Mr. Durrani, congratulating him on his new role.
She emphasized the strong and productive relationship that has developed between Laos and UNICEF over the years, particularly in the fields of information and cultural collaboration.
She expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to flourish under Mr. Durrani’s leadership, with even greater cooperation in media relations.
In response, Mr. Durrani expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended to him by the host minister and assured her that he would work closely with the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism. He committed to strengthening the relationship between Laos and UNICEF.
The minister voiced optimism that this new chapter of collaboration would see enhanced coordination in public communication, with both sides striving to broaden the scope and impact of their work.
Mr. Durrani also reaffirmed his dedication to ensuring that the existing cooperation between Laos and UNICEF would continue to grow, with a focus on key sectors like education, health, and child welfare.
