President to Attend BRICS Summit

KPL In response to an invitation from Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Party Secretary General and State President, will lead a Lao delegation to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit and related meetings in Kazan, Russia, from Oct 22 to 24.

 

(KPL) In response to an invitation from Mr. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Party Secretary General and State President, will lead a Lao delegation to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit and related meetings in Kazan, Russia, from Oct 22 to 24.

This year's BRICS Summit will be held under the theme: "BRICS and the Global South: Jointly Building a Better World."

The BRICS Summit has been held annually since 2009, with the most recent one hosted in South Africa.

The summit aims to address current global challenges, including efforts to enhance cooperation between the BRICS group and developing countries.

President Thongloun is expected to hold bilateral meetings with President Putin and other top leaders of BRICS member countries to discuss the promotion and strengthening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
