(KPL ) Since 2022 until now, the dispatch of Lao workers to work seasonally in the Republic of Korea started has a total of 7,551, of which 1,962 were women.

According to the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Ms Baykham Khattiya reported on June 17 at NA meeting.

Ms Baykham said that the sending Lao workers to work abroad It is one of the tasks in the 5th five -year labor and social welfare development plan (2021-2025) and promote Lao workers to have jobs, generate income, develop knowledge and skills.

The implementation of the work on sending Lao workers to work seasonally in the RoK in the past period, It is also seen that there are many aspects that cannot be implemented effectively, such as the quality of labor delivered, coordination within and with partners in the destination country, monitoring and providing assistance to workers and reporting is still not systematic and workers are protected by rights and legitimate benefits to make the sending of Lao workers to work abroad and can respond to the promotion of investment by domestic and foreign investors.
