(KPL) The Russian organization "Association of Teachers of Literature and Russian Language" with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation on December 21-22 held a series of events under the general title "Russian Language in Asia" in Laos.

The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Vientiane, the Department of Russian Language of Laos, as well as the Center of Open Education in the Russian Language, working on the basis of the University of Laos, acted as platforms.

A rich program was prepared for the professional audience - teachers of the Russian school at the Embassy, Russian teachers at the university, translators - to acquaint the specialists with the latest teaching methods and current trends in education.

In particular, the Lao teachers were able to listen to a lecture on verbs of movement and take part in a master class on phonetics (both of these topics traditionally cause a lot of difficulties not only for students, but also for teachers of Russian as a foreign language, especially at the beginning of their careers).

Innovative tools that can make the educational process more effective, easier and more enjoyable were not overlooked. These include interactive, game and communication methods, about which the Lao teachers were informed in detail by their Russian colleagues.

In turn, for the students who study Russian and want to continue their education in Russia, language proficiency tests for A-2 and B-1 levels were organized. This made it possible not only to objectively assess the quality of education, but also to formulate recommendations for adapting the educational program to the current needs of students. It is planned to pay special attention to reading and writing.

On December 22, the Cultural Festival of the Department of Philology was held at the University of Laos, where the ACCUL delegation took an active part in decorating the Russian stand and singing Russian songs with students.

Books of Mosaic Park Publishing House - fiction and children's literature were displayed at the stand. Since the cultural festival in Asia has a culinary component, the guests of the stand were offered dried goods, baranki and sweets brought from Russia.

After the event, the books were presented to the teachers of the Russian Language Department and the Russian School of the Russian Embassy. Art, pedagogical and methodical literature was presented to the Russian House. Visual-methodical materials were presented to all educational institutions.

In the RCSC there were lessons with high school students and students of Russian language (2 months, level - A1) - they learned about the richness of Russian culture, about the nature of Russia. Many of them plan to continue their studies in Russian universities.
