The Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) have agreed on four priority areas to strengthen cooperation in youth exchanges, friendship education, local-level initiatives and cadre training.

(KPL) The agreement was reached during talks in Vietnam on October 20 between a Lao delegation led by Thongly Sisoulith, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the LPRYU Committee, and a Vietnamese delegation led by Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the HCMCYU Central Committee.
The two sides reviewed the results of their cooperation and discussed ways to implement their 2022–2027 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) more effectively.
Thongly Sisoulith praised Vietnam’s achievements in national development and highlighted the two youth organizations’ cooperation in delegation exchanges, cadre training and educating young people about the traditional Laos-Vietnam friendship.
Under the four priorities, both sides agreed to strengthen friendship education through digital media and joint historical learning activities, including exploring a digital archive or exhibition entitled “Laos-Vietnam Revolutionary Memories” ahead of 2027.
They also agreed to expand youth exchanges, summer camps and joint programmes on leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills and volunteer activities.
At the local level, youth organizations in twinned and border provinces will be encouraged to cooperate on volunteer work, environmental protection, educational support and vocational training.
The two sides further committed to strengthening youth cadre training through the Laos-Vietnam Youth and Children Training Center and improving coordination at regional and international youth forums.
The Lao delegation expressed gratitude to Vietnam’s Party, State and youth organization for supporting the training center, describing it as an important symbol of friendship and cooperation between the younger generations of the two countries.
At the conclusion of the talks, Thongly Sisoulith invited Bui Quang Huy and the Vietnamese delegation to visit Laos at a mutually convenient time.
The meeting reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to strengthening Laos-Vietnam friendship and cooperation while delivering practical benefits for young people in both countries
