The Malaysia Travel and Education Fair 2026 offered visitors the opportunity to explore travel packages, obtain information on travel and education, and discover opportunities to plan their next trip to Malaysia. The fair also featured a lucky draw with special gifts for eligible participants.

The lucky draw was conducted by Ms Sordaly Chanthavong, Marketing Manager of Tourism Malaysia Vientiane, for visitors who booked travel packages or education programmes by placing a deposit during the fair. Special gifts included Malaysia-themed luggage, mascot teddy bears, hot-and-cold water bottles and Malaysia-branded bags.

The fair highlights the growing potential of tourism and education to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and the Lao PDR, said Ms Sordaly Chanthavong, Marketing Manager of Tourism Malaysia Laos.

“This year, we have seen an increase in the number of visitors booking travel packages and education programmes in Malaysia. This success has been made possible through joint promotional activities between Tourism Malaysia and travel agencies to stimulate tourism,” she said.

Tourism Malaysia provides financial support to travel agencies selling tour packages to Malaysia, helping to promote the country as a travel destination and encourage more visitors from the Lao PDR to explore Malaysia.

Malaysia welcomed 31,759 arrivals from the Lao PDR in 2025. From January to August 2026, the country recorded 25,220 arrivals from Laos, representing a 24.02 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025.
These figures reflect continued interest in Malaysia as a travel destination and highlight the potential for further growth in tourism exchanges between the two countries.

The fair features 16 interactive booths, including ten Lao travel agencies: Lao Worldwide Travel, Moukda Travel, Vientiane Travel, Seng Travel, MD Travel, PMC Travel, Sipha Travel, Jia Tai Travel, Paris Travel and Santiphab Travel.
The Malaysia Travel and Education Fair 2026 serves as a platform for visitors to discover new destinations, compare travel packages and explore opportunities to travel to and study in Malaysia, while fostering closer people-to-people ties between Malaysia and the Lao PDR.
