(KPL) The opening ceremony for the second computer room at the Vietnamese Language Training Center was held on August 25, 2026, at the Research Institute for Educational Sciences under the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Sisouk Vongvichit and Mr. Samlane Phankhavong, former Deputy Ministers of Education and Sports; Mr. Vongphet Ouloumdlid, Director of the Research Institute for Educational Sciences; Mr. Luong Minh Cu, President of Cuu Long University; Mr. Kim Rung, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Vinh Long Province; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long Province; and relevant officials and participants.

Mr. Luong Minh Cu said the opening of the computer room was significant to cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in education and human resource development. He said the initiative would contribute to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic partnership between the two countries.

The new facility will provide Lao pupils, students, and officials with better conditions to study Vietnamese before pursuing further education in Vietnam and for communication purposes. Mr. Luong Minh Cu also expressed hope that Cuu Long University would become an option for Lao students seeking higher education in Vietnam.

The computer room is equipped with 21 computers, a projector, printer, internet network, desks, and chairs, with a total value of approximately LAK 558 million (VND 642 million).

Cuu Long University currently operates two Vietnamese Language Training Centers in Laos. The first is the UCL-IICT Friendship Vietnamese Language Training Center, established in cooperation with the Institute of Information and Communication Technology under the Ministry of Technology and Communications. The second is located at the Research Institute for Educational Sciences under the Ministry of Education and Sports.
