Sekong Province has been selected to represent the Lao PDR as the “City of Charm” at the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), scheduled for September 17–21, 2026, in Nanning, China.
(KPL) Sekong Province has been selected to represent the Lao PDR as the “City of Charm” at the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), scheduled for September 17–21, 2026, in Nanning, China.
A Sekong delegation led by Ms. Phetdavone Vadsa-nga, Head of the Sekong Provincial Office, and Mr. Kusim Chanthapanya, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, visited Nanning from August 18–20 to prepare for the event.
The delegation coordinated with the CAEXPO organising committee and signed an agreement with a booth construction company to develop the “Sekong City of Charm” pavilion, highlighting the province's distinctive identity and development potential.
Preparations focused on exhibition design, event coordination, trade and investment promotion, tourism activities and related arrangements.
The expo will provide Sekong with an important international platform to showcase its agricultural products, tourism potential and investment opportunities, while promoting local products, expanding markets and strengthening cooperation with international partners.
