The examination results are expected to be officially announced on August 24, while enrolment registration for successful candidates is scheduled to begin on August 31.

Dr. Sinthavone Daravong, Rector of the National University of Laos, said NUOL had made extensive preparations to ensure the examinations were conducted smoothly, transparently, and fairly.

The examinations are being held at a single examination centre covering NUOL's Dongdok and Sokpaluang campuses, with 16 test sites and 387 examination rooms. Each room accommodates between 20 and 30 candidates. A total of 797 invigilators have been assigned to supervise the examinations and ensure compliance with examination regulations.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, NUOL has received approval from the Ministry of Education and Sports to admit 7,025 new students. The intake comprises 5,570 students for bachelor's degree programmes, 100 for international bachelor's programmes, 1,295 for bachelor's bridging and continuing programmes, and 60 for associate degree programmes.

Dr. Sinthavone said the entrance examinations are divided into two groups. Group A covers Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), while Group B covers Social Sciences and Humanities (non-STEM). The examinations are being used to select qualified candidates for 123 bachelor's degree programmes offered by the university.

To safeguard the integrity of the examinations, NUOL has introduced strict control measures for both candidates and invigilators. Candidates are subject to thorough checks before entering examination rooms, while the use of electronic devices and communication equipment is strictly prohibited.

The university has also warned that anyone violating examination regulations will face decisive action in accordance with established rules.

NUOL said the measures are intended to ensure that the entrance examinations are conducted in an orderly, transparent, fair, and secure manner, providing equal opportunities for all candidates.
