Officials from Laos and Vietnam met in Ninh Binh Province on Aug. 5 to exchange experience on media leadership and management, with discussions focusing on strengthening information management, combating online misinformation and improving cooperation between media authorities.
A delegation from the Central Information and Education Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, led by Mr. Somsavat Phongsa, Director General of the Media Department, met with Nguyen Duc Tuan, Head of the Propaganda, Education and Mobilization Committee of Ninh Binh Province, and his delegation during a working visit to Vietnam.The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on the responsibilities and operations of their respective agencies, particularly in leading, guiding and managing media activities.Discussions were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the close cooperation between the two Parties. Participants also shared experience in addressing social issues, managing fake news and online disinformation, and strengthening oversight of digital media platforms.The two sides emphasized the importance of timely information sharing by government agencies, private organizations and other relevant sectors to official media outlets, ensuring the public receives accurate, reliable and up-to-date information.KPL
