The Party Central Propaganda and Training Committee (PCPTC) has conferred commemorative medals to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The awards were presented during a ceremony on 28 November at the PCPTC headquarters in Vientiane, attended by senior members of the Party leadership, government officials and retired personnel.

Those recognised included Comrade Khamphan Pheuyavong, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the PCPTC and President of the Party Central Theoretical Council, Comrade Laopaosong Navongxay, Deputy Head of the PCPTC and Comrade Vilavone Phanthavong, Standing Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the PCPTC. Several deputy heads, current officials and former staff were also honoured.

In total, more than 560 individuals — among them 216 women — received the commemorative medal. The distinction acknowledges their sustained contributions to national protection, development and the broader advancement of the Lao PDR.
In his address, Comrade Khamphan commended the awardees for their professionalism, dedication and service over many years. He emphasised the continued importance of Party unity and called on all members to uphold their responsibilities in safeguarding national interests and supporting the country’s development objectives.
