(KPL) The Party Central Committee member, Head of Party Central Foreign Relations Committee, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane received here Mr Fernando Gonzalez Llort, the Cuban President of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) on Nov 17 during his paying a working visit Laos on 15-18 Nov.
Mr Thongsavanh has expressed high appreciation for the visiting Laos of the delegation of the Cuban President of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, which is in the midst of an atmosphere in which friendship and cooperation between Laos and Cuba are continuing to grow and to increase the wealth, the senior leaders of the two countries have come to meet and visit each other, scope of cooperation including education-sports, public health and agriculture, continue to be effective and bring benefits to the people of the two countries.
He also appreciated the cooperation between the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association and the Cuban Institute for International Friendship in the diplomatic movement of the people, playing an important role in supporting and helping each other in the regional and international arena.
It is also a contribution to enhancing and multiplying the friendship and cooperation between the two countries of Laos and Cuba.
In reply, Mr Fernando Gonzalez Llort has expressed sincere gratitude for the warmly welcome of the Head of Party Central Foreign Relations Committee and inform the purpose of his working visit Lao PDR.
He pledged to cooperate and coordinate with the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association to actively support each other for the benefit of the two nations and contributing to enhance the friendly relationship, the good cooperation of the two parties, the two states and the people of the two countries.
On Nov 16, Mr Fernando Gonzalez Llort was warmly welcomed by the President of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association Prof. Dr Chaleun Yiapaoher who is also Vice President of the National Assembly.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation between Laos and Cuba in cooperation in public diplomacy as well as organizing activities to support and help each other in the past, discuss and cooperation plan in the future.
The two sides have agreed to continue cooperation, support and help each other both in the regional and international arena.
