Gov’t urged to reform five key state enterprises

KPL (KPL) The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has urged the government and relevant ministries to urgently reform five strategic state enterprises to prevent additional loss to the government budget and increasing public debts.

(KPL) The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has urged the government and relevant ministries to urgently reform five strategic state enterprises to prevent additional loss to the government budget and increasing public debts.

President of the Planning, Finance and Audit Committee of the National Assembly Liber Libuapao urged the government and relevant ministries to reform according to applicable laws five strategic enterprises namely Electricite du Lao (EDL), Lao State Fuel Company, EDL Gen Public, Lao Airlines, and Agriculture Development Export- Import.

The government was required to evaluate the business performance of 137 other state enterprises and prepare a report on the reform of the five strategic state enterprises and submit it to the next Ordinary Session of the National Assembly.

The government was also asked to devise a state enterprise development strategy and vision according to sustainable and socialist trends.
