Deputy Minister of Defence Maj. Gen. Onsy Sensouk, Head of Kaysone Phomvihane National Defense Academy Maj. Gen. Khamla Phanhsaiyasouk, Indian Ambassador to Laos Dinkar Asthana and relevant officials attended the event.

“I believe that the activity today will enhance the traditional diplomatic relations between the two countries Laos and India, especially the denfense sectors as well as between the Lao and Indian peoples so that they become closer to each other, build greater bond and enjoy greater mutual assistance,” said Maj. Gen. Khamla Phanhsaiyasouk.

India and the Lao PDR share long-standing religious, cultural, and people-to-people linkages going back long into history. Diplomatic relations between the countries, as modern sovereign nation-states, were established in 1956, and the two countries have exchanged several high-level visits over the decades, according to the Indian ambassador.
