KPL Lao authorities have arrested 63 suspected online fraud operatives, including 57 Chinese nationals, during coordinated raids at six locations across Sikhottabong and Hadxaifong districts in Vientiane, the Ministry of Public Security said.

The operation, conducted on Aug. 1, targeted suspected telecommunications fraud syndicates operating from rented houses, a hotel, and a commercial area. Those detained included 57 Chinese nationals (two women), four Lao nationals (one woman), one Cambodian national, and one Thai national.
Investigators seized thousands of electronic devices and other equipment believed to have been used in the alleged scam operations, including more than 3,300 mobile phones, more than 200 desktop and laptop computers, satellite internet equipment, vehicles, passports, and tablet devices.
At Ban Mai Village in Sikhottabong District, officers raided three adjacent two-story rental houses. One was being used as accommodation, while the other two had allegedly been converted into an online fraud center. Authorities found four staff members at the premises—three Lao nationals and one Thai national—and confiscated 3,172 mobile phones, 97 desktop computers, two laptops, two passports, two vehicles, several electric bicycles, and an electric tricycle.
In Nong Hai Village, Hadxaifong District, police arrested 24 suspects, including 23 Chinese nationals and one Lao national, and seized 28 desktop computers, one laptop, 70 mobile phones, and satellite internet equipment.
At a rented house in Muang Wa Tha Village, Sikhottabong District, authorities detained one Chinese national and one Cambodian national and confiscated five mobile phones, three laptops, and one iPad.
Separate raids at the Yunnan Hotel in Ubmung Village and Changjiang Market in Wat Tai Noi Village resulted in the arrest of nine Chinese nationals, along with the seizure of 11 mobile phones, a passport, and two vehicles.
In Salakham Tai Village, Hadxaifong District, officers arrested 24 Chinese nationals at a rented villa and confiscated 83 desktop computers, five laptops, 85 mobile phones, an iPad, and two satellite internet receiver systems.
The Ministry of Public Security said investigators are continuing to examine the seized evidence, identify additional suspects, and expand the investigation into the alleged transnational online fraud network.
