The Department of Treatment and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Health has ordered the temporary suspension of medical services at BLL Hospital following allegations circulating on social media that illegal organ transplants may have taken place at the facility.
According to an official notice, the suspension was imposed to allow authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation and verify the facts surrounding the allegations.
Under the order, BLL Hospital must temporarily halt the admission of new patients and suspend medical services while an inspection committee reviews the hospital's operations. The committee has been tasked with collecting relevant information, examining the hospital's activities, and verifying all available evidence to ensure a transparent, impartial, and thorough investigation.
The Department stated that once the inspection and evidence-gathering process is completed, the findings and any further decisions will be announced publicly and communicated to the hospital.
BLL Hospital is a legally registered healthcare facility that provides general medical services and has contributed to expanding healthcare access in Laos.
