Lao citizens across all sectors of society say they want members of the National Assembly and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils who are capable, honest and committed to solving public concerns and advancing national development.
Speaking ahead of the February 22 elections, Khamler Sisoutham, a grassroots worker from Ban Nonghai in Hadxaifong District, said voters should carefully examine candidates’ qualifications before casting their ballots.
He said representatives should prioritize national and local development, address people’s concerns effectively and safeguard the legitimate interests of citizens of all ethnic groups. Electing knowledgeable and principled leaders, he added, would help ensure continuous national progress and improved living standards.
Also sharing her views, Khamla Phobpatsa, a vendor and resident of Ban Nonghai, said she intends to fully exercise her voting rights by selecting candidates who demonstrate competence, integrity and a strong sense of public responsibility.
She expressed hope that capable leadership would help strengthen unity, stability and prosperity, enabling citizens nationwide to live in peace and overcome future challenges.
