Cambodia Airways has officially launched a direct flight service linking Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with Vientiane, the Lao PDR, strengthening air connectivity between the two neighboring countries.

The airline operated its inaugural flight on January 29, 2026, carrying 153 passengers on board. The new route is expected to facilitate travel for businesspeople, tourists, and officials, while supporting trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to the airline, the service currently operates two flights per week, scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays. Cambodia Airways said the new route reflects growing demand for direct air links within the Mekong sub-region and may be expanded in the future depending on market response.
