The Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) has intensified preparations for the upcoming elections of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC) by convening a dissemination meeting to brief Party members and civil servants on key guidelines and responsibilities.

(KPL) The Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) has intensified preparations for the upcoming elections of the 10th National Assembly (NA) and the 5th Provincial People’s Councils (PPC) by convening a dissemination meeting to brief Party members and civil servants on key guidelines and responsibilities.
The meeting was held on January 21, 2026, and was chaired by Mr Santisouk Simmalavong, Secretary of the Ministry’s Party Executive Committee and Minister of Technology and Communications. Attendees included members of the Party Standing Committee, the Party Executive Committee, heads of Party units, Party members, and civil servants from across the ministry.
Building Awareness and Unity
The dissemination focused on strengthening political awareness among Party members and civil servants, particularly eligible voters, while fostering a unified and accurate understanding of the importance of the elections for the 10th NA and 5th PPC. The session also encouraged participants to actively and responsibly exercise their voting rights in strict accordance with electoral laws and regulations.
Promoting Inclusive and Lawful Elections
Special emphasis was placed on promoting democratic participation among all ethnic groups and ensuring that candidates who fully meet legal standards and qualifications are elected, thereby contributing to transparent, inclusive, and credible elections.
Key Guidelines and Legal Framework
Participants reviewed and studied several key documents, including guidelines on strengthening ideological leadership and democratic rights in the election process, the Law on the Election of Members of the National Assembly and Provincial People’s Councils, and the National Election Committee’s Action Plan (No. 02/NEC, dated November 3, 2025).
The meeting underscored the importance of ensuring that Party members and officials at all levels fully understand and effectively implement these directives, enabling the election process to proceed smoothly and successfully in line with national objectives.
